# Starting a Little Free Library

I have been wanting to start a Little Free Library for the podcast, to give back to my rural community, for some time. I have been galvanized by [my mother-in-law'](https://there-might-be-cupcakes-podcast.ghost.io/i-would-like-to-share-my-mother-in-law-with-you/)s books to finally do so, and I plan to do this the right way, serving the community properly and applying for an [Impact grant for underserved rural communities](https://littlefreelibrary.org/programs/impact-library/), following the [Indigenous Library Program's guidelines](https://littlefreelibrary.org/programs/indigenous-library-program/), making certain all languages in our multilingual area are served, making certain the library is [fully accessible](https://littlefreelibrary.org/how-to-make-your-little-free-library-more-accessible/), and by signing and following the [Read In Color pledge.](https://littlefreelibrary.org/programs/read-in-color/) (already signed!) I am also reaching out to community leaders to hopefully make this a collaborative effort.

The box itself will be formed from an old dollhouse, and [the charter sign will be English and Spanish](https://shop.littlefreelibrary.org/collections/charter-signs/products/english-spanish-bilingual-charter-sign). I am quite excited to finally set up this project. Please join me! This will be the only LFL within miles and miles, so I am looking forward to setting it up quickly.
