# Happy Thanksgiving, from Tisquantum and The Dollop

then: the first American Thanksgiving was in 1610 in [Virginia](https://theremightbecupcakes.com/tag/virginia/), yes indeedy. [Quoting myself](http://theremightbecupcakes.com/episode-35-dollop/), if I may:

They gave a thanksgiving prayer service and celebration meal. *Boom*. First Thanksgiving.
